A: The SMB suites were discontinued on the 14th April 2008. This is due McAfee making the Protection Pilot Management console End of life. Those that currently have this product and the licence has not expired McAfee will still keep the Protection Pilot active until everyone has switched to another management console.

The other management consoles available are:

ePolicy Orchestrator - within the Total Protection Endpoint and Active Virus Defence and Active Virus Scan.

Web Management - within the Total Protection Service products.

A: They can't purchase the Anti-Spam for Groupshield module, but they can purchase the Groupshield Mail Server with EPO. They will need to purchase this as a new licence.

A: At the moment, McAfee are not supporting Windows 2008.

A: Yes, both these products have Groupshield but Active VirusScan doesn't.

A: They need to renew as the upgrade product Total Protection Service Advanced.

A: The majority of products require a minimum requirement of 11 nodes to start a licence agreement.However some products are starting 2 licences or 5 and you will need to check the product description. Once you have the new licence you can purchase additional licences to the agreement but you have to order a minimum of 5.

A: All renewal licences are backdated to the expiry date.

A: As the two amount of users are under the same grant number and expire within the same month, then it is OK to add the users together. The total must be put under the correct banding with the grant number to be renewed. However McAfee will use the earliest expiry date when issuing the renewal.

A: McAfee licences are only available to renew 60 days before the expiry date?

A: The product required is McAfee Secure Messaging Service For Small Business. This contains email Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Content Filtering Services, Disaster recovery and denial-of-service protection.

A: No, unfortunately this doesn't. The products that contain Groupshield are Total Protection for Small Business Advanced, Total Protection for Enterprise Upgrade and Total Protection for Enterprise.

A: There is no direct replacement product. The product required is antispam for groupshield module and groupware is needed to purchase this.

A: As from May 2008, McAfee changed the names for the Total Protection Suites. This has not changed the content of each product, only the name. The changes are as follows:

Total Protection Small Business is now Total Protection Service

Total Protection Small Business Advanced is now Total Protection Service Advanced

Total Protection Enterprise is now Total Protection Endpoint

Total Protection Enterprise Advanced is now Total Protection Endpoint Advanced

A: The pricing is the same.

A: The only way to receive the media is when you receive an email confirming that you have purchased this product. A link will be included to download all the software you will need.

A: The product that they will need it Total Protection for Endpoint Upgrade. They can migrate to Total Protection Service Advanced.

A: With Spamkiller being discontinued you will need to purchase both the groupshield and the antispam in order to run the equivalent product. The products you will require is the Groupshield Mail Server with EPO and the Antispam for Groupshield Module. There is also another option available which will be to upgrade to Total Protection Advanced Upgrade, which is one programme that includes all the solutions.

A: The replacement product is Total Protection Service - managed services (TSBECE) and this is the replacement for all the hosted services.
